Before We Knew

And then a day as huge
as yesterdays in pairs
unrolled its horror in my face
until it blocked my eyes

It seemed so easy (before we knew)

I dropped so low in my Regard
I heard it hit the ground
and go to pieces on the stone
at bottom of my mind
