Song of the Week #4

I've decided that one of the hardest parts of this whole project is going to be coming up with song names. I already don't like the name of this one.

Song of the Week #3 (again)

So, today I saw a button on the floor right next to the toilet at work. It made me wonder. Did someone have to go so badly that they actually tore their button right off their pants? And if they did, was it really so relieving that they never noticed? Anyways, on to the song. It's borderline country. Or possibly over the border. . .

Song of the Week #3

Song of the Weeks #3 has been postponed. I have had a sore throat all weekend and I was hoping it would be gone today so that I could just post it a little late, but its still here. So, I'll either be posting #3 sometime later this week, or be posting 2 songs for #4.

Was it ever worth it?

Was there all that much to gain?
Well we knew we missed the boat
And we'd already missed the plane
We didn't read the invite
We just dance at our wake
All our favorites were playing
So we could shake, shake, shake, shake, shake

Tiny curtains open and we heard the tiny clap of little hands
A tiny man would tell a little joke and get a tiny laugh from all the folks
Sitting drifting around in bubbles and thinking it was us that carried them
When we finally got it figured out that we had truly missed the boat

Oh, and we carried it all so well
As if we got a new position
Oh, and we owned all the tools ourselves
But not the skills to make a shelf with
Oh, what useless tools ourselves

Those of you who know me know that my life is little more than a countdown to the next time that I am going to accidentally hurt myself doing something I enjoy. Well, now I have my next means to achieve that. Viola! My new snowboard:

Song of the Week #2

Here is the song for week 2. Sometimes I feel like I try to do too much with songs, basically overwrite them, so this is just me and the guitar. That is all.

Song of the Week #1

This is the first song. Is it the most amazing song in the world . . . probably not. But it is done, which is more than I can say for so many of my other songs.

You're telling me I will regret you

But so..
And your talking like I should expect to
But you'll never know..

And he's left you in the rain again
And you were always on my mind
And your telling me I should forget you

Come on the guy's a fake
What do you love him for
And it was my mistake
Just kicking in his door
And if it's just a game
What are we crying for

I don't know anymore..

I don't make New Years Resolutions. Occasionally, I set goals, but not resolutions. You already know about my biggest goal this year, but I've also decided on a couple of others as well.

1. I'm going to stop chewing my nails. (Of course, this has been a goal for years, so we'll see how that goes)
2. I'm going to start a CafePress store. (I don't care if I'm actually successful selling t-shirts, I just want to have some original ones for myself, and if anyone else wants them, that is up to them)
3. I'm going to improve at piano. (A goal is nothing if it isn't measureable, you'll just have to accept that I will know it when I'm there)
4. I'm going to finish re-building my guitar. (For those of you who've seen them, its the red tele that I built a few years ago, which is now in pieces)

That is all.
